Women Transplant

Only a small percentage of women suffer the form of hair loss that qualifies them as candidates. However, many women experience widespread hair loss, which is characterized by thinning in all parts of the head, particularly the sides and back, which serve as donor sites in men. Hair is extracted from these locations in preparation for transplantation to other parts of the head.

The donor sites are frequently unsteady in female pattern baldness. They, like other parts of the head, are weakening. Killing follicles DHT , affects the donor sites in women. This indicates that extracting hair and follicles from specific donor locations in women and transplanting them to other regions would result in hair loss. Any doctor who tries to transplant hair from an unreliable donor area is possibly unethical and may be manipulating the patient for financial benefit.

Which Females are considered the optimal candidates for Hair Transplant?
Hair transplant operation is only suitable for a low proportion of ladies, based on doctors. This surgery will treat about 2% – 5% of females who are experiencing hair loss. They are as follows:

Ladies suffering from alopecia marginalis, a disorder that resembles traction alopecia.
Ladies who have already undergone aesthetic or plastic operations and are worried about loss of hair near the cut areas.
Ladies who have experienced hair loss as a result of physical or traction alopecia (nonhormonal).
Ladies who have lost their hair as a result of injury, such as burn victims, accident injuries, or chemical burning.
Ladies who have a definite balding pattern, similar to male pattern baldness. This involves a receding hairline, vertex thinning (on the crown or top of the head), and a donor region unaffected by androgenetic alopecia.

What does the term “hair transplantation operation” mean?
The surgical operation of hair transplantation is done to cure hair loss. Delicate portions of hair are often extracted from the back of the head and implanted in bald places of the head, and eyebrow.

What are the factors affecting the hair transplantation success?
1- The Donor Area’s Quality
The following are some of the factors that influence the donor area’s quality:
People with light hair or hair that is near in color to their skin tone frequently get the best outcomes.
Hair thickness: People with thicker hair tend to have better results than those with thinner hair. Each hair follicle is better covered with thicker hair.
Hairstyle: (straight or curly)
Hair follicle density at the donor site should be greater than 40 follicles per square centimeter.
2-If a patient has a long term illness, including diabetes, thyroid disease, or high blood pressure, he or she should be evaluated before the procedure.
3-Before an operation, a patient’s past surgical history regarding his or her anesthetic sensitivity is asked.
4- The age range that is acceptable:
The optimal candidate is between the ages of 25 – 65.

There are two main hair transplanting techniques:
1. Follicular unit extraction (FUE) using sapphire
After applying local anaesthetic to the patient, Sapphire FUE hair transplantation is used to obtain natural-looking results by extracting hair follicles from the donor area one by one with the assistance of a micro motor.
FUE was supposed to substitute the traditional follicular unit transplantation (FUT) technique.
Because FUE is less probable to result in a “hair plug” appearance, when parts of skin or hair don’t resemble the nearby areas, it has grown more common than FUT. In addition, unlike FUT, it does not create a huge scar.

2-Direct hair implantation (DHI) procedure
The placing of hair follicles that are extracted separately into the transplantation region with the automatic Choi implanter pens is known as DHI Hair Transplantation.
Hair follicles are extracted gently and separately and implanted into the region with a Choi pen.
How long does it take to get hair transplanted?
Depending on the hair transplantation procedure utilised:
a FUE operation can take anywhere from 2-4 hours.
a DHI operation can take anywhere from 6 to 8 hours.

How long does it take to recover from a hair transplant technique?
-Without stitches, FUE hair transplant healing takes roughly 3-5 days.
-The healing time for DHI hair transplant is usually 4-5 days.

Will the transplanted hair fall out?
For the first 3 months post the operation, it is typical for a portion of your hair to come out. Recovery can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months. However, once the transplanted follicles have healed, they will start to grow hair and fill in the bald regions on your head.
